Problem – “Kitty” Impurities in PC Fabrics
In polyester–cotton (PC) fabrics, “kitty” impurities are one of the most common yet stubborn issues faced by textile processors.
These small contaminants cause several challenges
- They resist conventional scouring methods.
- Result in uneven dyeing and patchy fabric shades.
- Lead to poor finishing results and higher reprocessing costs.
These problems not only affect production quality but also reduce customer satisfaction and increase operational cost.
Solution – Starco Kitty Removal Process
To eliminate these impurities effectively, Starco Arochem Pvt. Ltd. has developed a special combination of textile auxiliaries known as the Starco Kitty Removal Process.
This process ensures deep, uniform and damage-free cleaning of PC fabrics.
🔹 Recommended Recipe (on weight of fabric):
- Starcoscour LWA: 0.6 – 1.0 %
- Starcoscour PSW: 0.3 – 0.5 %
- Hydrogen Peroxide (50%): 1.5 – 2.0 %
- Caustic Flakes: 0.6 – 0.8 %
Note: No separate peroxide stabilizer is required – it’s already built into Starcoscour LWA.
🔹 Process Conditions:
- Temperature: 90 – 100°C
- Time: 45 minutes
- Liquor Ratio: As per machine capacity
- For severe kitty problems – increase Hydrogen Peroxide to 2.0%
